Perfect Game Top-25 Ranks UConn at No. 16

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut baseball team has been tagged as the No. 16 team in the country according to the Perfect Game Top-25 preseason rankings.
UConn is the only team from the BIG EAST Conference to make the top-25 poll, while the ACC and Pac-10 both have six teams among the mix.
Florida was tagged as the top program, while UCLA and TCU rounded out the top-three.
Perfect Game USA is the fourth outlet to rank the Huskies among its preseason polls. UConn was ranked ninth according to Baseball America, No. 14 by College Baseball Lineup and No. 16 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
The Huskies were also chosen as the favorite in the 2011 BIG EAST Conference preseason poll, which was announced on January 4.
UConn opens the 2011 season against Purdue on Friday, Feb. 18 in Dunedin, Fla. at 7:30 p.m. The game is part of the 2011 BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge.
