Billy Latta Named AHA Rookie of the Week

Storrs, Conn. - It was announced on Monday, February 7 that UConn freshman Billy Latta (West Chester, Pa.) has been named the Atlantic Hockey Association Rookie of the Week. Latta scored two goals, including the game-winning tally, in UConn's 4-2 victory at Army on Friday, February 4.
Latta tallied the game-winning goal midway through the second period before adding an insurance goal on the power play in the waning minutes of the third period. It was Latta's fifth two-point performance of the season. He now has 17 points in the last 15 games.
Latta has performed well for UConn in his rookie campaign, tallying 21 points to sit in third among all UConn players. Latta ranks third on the team with nine goals and tied for second with 12 assists. He currently ranks third among all Atlantic Hockey freshmen in scoring.
The Huskies will face Sacred Heart in a home-and-home series this weekend starting at Sacred Heart on Friday at 7:05 p.m. UConn will then host the Pioneers at the historic outdoor game played at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. on Sunday, February 13 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
