Four Huskies Picked In NFL Draft

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. - The Philadelphia Eagles selected UConn defensive end Greg Lloyd (Clermont, Fla.) with the 34th pick of the seventh round (237thpick overall) of the 2011 National Football League Draft on Saturday afternoon at Radio City Music Hall.
Lloyd is the fourth Husky to be selected in the 2011 NFL Draft, joining Anthony Sherman who was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals, Lawrence Wilson who was selected by the Carolina Panthers and Jordan Todman who was drafted by the San Diego Chargers. With four picks in the 2011 draft, the Huskies have now tied a school record, as they also had four athletes drafted during 2009. Lloyd is the 29th UConn football player to be selected in the draft since 1946 and the first to be selected by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Lloyd made 178 tackles over his four-year collegiate career with 14 tackles for a loss and earned second team All-BIG EAST in 2009.

Anthony Sherman - Arizona Cardinals
Fifth pick of the Fifth Round (136th Pick Overall)
Sherman, a two-time captain, was a consistent performer for the Huskies as a starting fullback and also on special teams. He played in 51 games over his career with 29 starts and made 62 tackles on special teams, leading the Huskies to their first BCS appearance last season.
Lawrence Wilson - Carolina Panthers
First pick of the Sixth Round (166th Pick Overall)
Wilson was a first team All-BIG EAST pick in 2010 after leading the BIG EAST in tackles and ranking 29th nationally. He is the second-leading tackler in UConn history with 449 and has started 50 career games.
Jordan Todman - San Diego Chargers
18th pick of the Sixth Round (183rd Pick Overall)
Todman was an All-American selection following the 2010 season and was the unanimous BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He became the first UConn player to rush for more than 1,000 yards in two different seasons and has two of the top-seven single-season rushing marks in school history. Todman finished the 2010 season ranked second in the country and first in the BIG EAST in rushing and was 15th nationally and first in the league in all-purpose running. He is third in career rushing at UConn with 3,179 yards and tied for third in rushing touchdowns with 31.
