Women's Cross Country Headed to NCAA Northeast Regionals

BOSTON - Coming off a third-place finish at the 2015 conference meet, the UConn women's cross country team will look to keep up its momentum when it travels to Boston, Mass. to participate in NCAA Northeast Regionals on Friday, Nov. 13 at historic Franklin Park. The women's 6K race is set to begin at 12 p.m.

Senior tri-captain Emily Durgin, who was the top finisher at the 2014 conference meet, paced the Huskies at the league meet for the second-straight year on Oct. 31, crossing the line of the 6K race in 20:11.81 followed up by teammates Alexis Panisse(20:52.30) and Laura Williamson(20:55.64), who claimed ninth and 11 th , respectively. Next up, freshman Courtney Ackerleyplaced 22 ndat 21:31.12 ahead of Hannah Parker(21:55.67), Liza Zimmer (22:06.28), Abby Mace(22:55.01) and Maggie Christe(23:08.56).
Friday's race will be the Huskies' third competition in Boston this season after collecting a 12th-place finish at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Sept. 25 and a 16th-place finish at the New England Championships on Oct. 10.
The team will be looking to improve upon an 11th-place finish at the event a season ago in which Lauren Sara and Durgin secured individual berths to the NCAA Championship.
In the most recent USFTCCCA rankings, the Huskies checked in at No. 11 in the Northeast Region.

PARKING INFORMATION
Parking at Franklin Park will be free of charge and open to the public, but there is limited capacity and it is directed by Boston Park Rangers. Fans could park up to a mile away, so fans are encouraged to arrive early.
