Huskies Set For William & Mary Wednesday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The University of Connecticut women's lacrosse team is back on the road for a weekday match-up with William & Mary Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.
UConn is coming off its first loss of 2016 after going 4-0 to start the season. The Huskies dropped a 15-6 decision on their home turf against UMass on Saturday, snapping their undefeated streak.
Senior attacker Katherine Finkelston (Leonardtown, Md.) currently leads the team with 22 points (19g, 3a) followed by sophomore Grace Nolan (Marcellus, N.Y.) with 18 points (15g, 3a) and senior Alyson Fazio (Methuen, Mass.) with 15 (12g, 3a).
Senior goalkeeper Shannon Nee (Lancaster, Pa.) has started in all five games for the Huskies, recording 50 saves for a .538 save percentage and an 8.93 goals against average.
SCOUTING WILLIAM & MARY
The Tribe currently owns an even 3-3 record, with two losses coming against ranked opponents, including No. 1 Maryland and No. 7 Virginia. William & Mary is coming off a 17-14 victory over Old Dominion, the second of four-straight home games for the Tribe.
Junior midfielder Shannon Quinn currently leads the Tribe with 16 points (16g), followed by sophomores Danielle Palmucci, sister of UConn senior Carly Palmucci (Herndon, Va.), with 13 points (2g, 11a) and Abby Corkum with 11 (9g, 2a).
THE SERIES
UConn is 0-1 against William & Mary in the all-time series. The Huskies and the Tribe met back in 2002, where UConn fell short of No. 13 William & Mary 13-12 in its regular season opener on the road on March 3, 2002.

The Huskies return to the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex on Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. to host Fairfield.
