STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women’s lacrosse team cracked the top 20 of the national lacrosse rankings, coming in at No. 19 in the IWLCA coaches poll and No. 20 in the Inside Lacrosse poll for the week of Feb. 29.
The undefeated Huskies were receiving votes at the start of the season, but made their way into the top 20 after going 3-0 to start their 2016 season with wins over Quinnipiac, previously ranked James Madison and New Hampshire.
UConn pulled off the program’s first-ever shut out against Quinnipiac, 21-0, in UConn’s home opener before downing JMU 12-10. The Huskies defeated UNH 13-7 on the road last Saturday, which put them at a 3-0 record and helped them climb their way into the top 20.
