UConn Heads to No. 1 Notre Dame on Tuesday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - After opening its road schedule on Saturday at Georgetown, the UConn men's soccer team faces another challenge on Tuesday, Sept. 13 when it takes on No. 1 Notre Dame at Alumni Field at 7 p.m. Kickoff will be broadcasted on the ACCExtra Network with radio coverage on WHUS.org, 91.7 FM.
UConn (3-2-0) dropped a 1-0 decision to the Hoyas on Saturday night in Washington, D.C. despite a season-best six saves from redshirt-junior goalkeeper Scott Levene (Stamford, Conn.).
UConn owns an 11-8-4 all-time record against the Fighting Irish in a series that dates back to 1986. Notre Dame enters the match as the top team in the weekly NSCAA poll after beginning the 2016 season campaign with a 5-0-0 mark. Most recently, the Irish grabbed a 5-0 neutral-site victory over Cal as part of the IU Classic in Bloomington, Ind.
Through five matches, Connecticut is averaging 1.40 goals per match and is holding opponents to an 0.80 goals against average. Sophomore striker Abdou Mbacke Thiam (Dakar, Senegal) is the team's leading scorer, registering give points on a pair of goals.
