Women's Soccer Ties Colorado College

STORRS, Conn. - Junior midfielder Vivien Beil (Jena, Germany) scored a first-half goal as the UConn women's soccer team tied Colorado College on Sunday afternoon by a 1-1 score at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.
UConn is now 2-4-3 on the season while Colorado College is 3-3-2.
Both teams scored their goals in the first half as Johanna Hemblett scored for the Tigers at the 17:29 mark of the first half with an assist going to Lauren Milliet.
Beil tied the game with 8:39 to go in the first half as she connected a shot just inside the top of the box with an assist going to junior forward Kim Urbanek (Lonnerstadt, Germany). Beil is now the second-leading scorer on the Husky team this year with two goals and two assists for six points. The assist marked the first point of the year for Urbanek.
UConn outshot Colorado College by a 23-11 mark, including 6-2 in overtime, and had a 10-2 corner kick advantage. Redshirt freshman Mollie Kerrigan (Fairfield, Conn.) made three saves in goal for the Huskies while Jade Odom had four for the visitors.
UConn is now complete with the non-conference portion of the regular season and opens American Athletic Conference play when it plays host to Cincinnati on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. and East Carolina on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m.
