Kia Nurse Tabbed American Conference Player of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - Senior guard Kia Nurse of the No. 1 University of Connecticut women's basketball team garnered American Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors following a three-game week for the Huskies.
The Hamilton, Ontario native averaged 18.0 points per game and shot 60 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from long-range in a 3-0 week for the top-ranked Huskies (18-0). The week included wins at No. 9/7 Texas, Tulsa and at Temple.
Nurse scored 13 points and chased-down five rebounds in 40-minutes of action against the Longhorns. She was 3-6 from the floor and made all six attempts from the free throw line. She followed that up with 17-point effort in the win over Tulsa on Thursday. The Hamilton, Ontario native was 5-7 from three-point range against the Golden Hurricane.
Nurse's best game of the week came on Sunday when she scored 24-points and dished-out four assists without committing a single turnover in the win over Temple. Nurse was 9-13 from the field, snared six rebounds and was 4-8 from deep against the Owls. The Huskies currently own a 6-0 clip
Nurse continues to lead the nation in three-point field goal shooting percentage at 50 percent.
