CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Quarterback David Pindell landed on the 2018 New England Football Writers University Division I All-New England team after a historic season at UConn.
The Husky signal caller recorded the most rushing yards by a QBÂ in UConn single-season history with 1139 yards. The senior quarterback passed Pete Petrillo, who rushed for 676 yards as a QB in 1967, with a 120-yard rushing game against UMass.
Pindell is third in UConn single season history for net yards of total offense with 3117Â yards in 2018.Â
Pindell earned American Athletic Conference honor roll recognition after rushing for a career-high 197 yards and two touchdowns at No. 21 USF on Oct. 20.Â
Pindell recorded a 100-yard rushing game on six occasions this season. He is the first UConn quarterback in the FBS era to notch multiple 100-yard rushing games in the same season.
Boston College led the way with five picks. Maine, Dartmouth, and Harvard each had four; URI, UMASS, and Sacred Heart had two, and Yale, UConn, Central Connecticut, UNH, Bryant, Brown, and Holy Cross had one each.
