STORRS, Conn. – Head coach Chris Maiello has announced the addition of nine student-athletes to the Class of 2023.
"This class of incoming freshman will have an immediate and lasting impact on our program, said Chris Maiello. "We continue to recruit high quality individuals and this class is no different. One of our goals for this class was to recruit depth for every event while reaching for some top level talent, I think this class accomplishes both of those goals."
The women's team adds Mia Galat (Andover, Mass.), Gabrielle Low (Winthrop, Maine), Audra McSharry (Greenville, S.C.), Charlotte Proceller (Weston, Conn,), Caitlin Spencer (Uxbridge, Mass.) Anna Wenman (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.).
"On the women's side our class is very well balanced with strokes and free," said Maiello. "We added to the team depth in the sprints and distance free along with potential conference scorers in back and fly. It's excited to know that every one of our incoming freshman can compete and score at the conference level."
The men welcome McAllister Milne (Glastonbury, Conn.), Gavin Moak (Austin, Tx.) and Billy Regan (Southbury, Conn.).
"On the men's side we has done really well with recruiting in our geographical footprint on the University," said Maiello. "Four of our incoming freshman are from CT. This is important for us to tap into the great swimming state that Connecticut is. It is great that we can build are team from within our own state. As with the women's program, each one of our incoming freshman can score at the conference level. The depth that this class with help provide our team will serve us well in the dual and championship meet format."
Along with our current team members, our program present and future is really exciting to consider, It's a great time to be a Husky!"
