Williams Earns Conference, National Honors

STORRS, Conn. – After scoring 28 points and leading UConn past then-No. 1 Notre Dame Sunday, freshman Christyn Williams was selected as the American Athletic Conference's Player of the Week and espnW's National Player of the Week.
Williams scored her new career high on 11-of-16 shooting. She scored 16 points in the game's first quarter. Williams was 2-of-4 from three-point range and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
The Little Rock, Ark., native also scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting vs. then-No. 16 DePaul last week.
This season, Williams is averaging 13.3 points per game. She's started all seven of UConn's games.
The Huskies leapfrogged Notre Dame in Monday's AP Poll and UConn is now the unanimous No. 1 team.
UConn is back in action Tuesday at Saint Louis at 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
