STORRS, Conn. - Defensive lineman Ryan Fines has signed a financial aid agreement and will join the UConn football team for the 2018 season, as announced by head coach Randy Edsall on Wednesday.
Fines, who will graduate from the University of Miami in May, will enroll at UConn as a graduate student and will have two years of eligibility remaining, beginning with the 2018 season.
"Ryan is a thick guy, a strong guy, an effort guy, a run-through-the-wall, go-to-the-whistle guy," Edsall said to reporters on Wednesday morning. "He'll bring some leadership and maturity to that position."
