STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut redshirt senior Ryan Crozier (Plantation, Fla.) has been named to the 2018 Rimington Trophy Watch List. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in the country.
Crozier played 10 games on the offensive line as a true freshman in 2014 – starting the final three games at left guard. He was moved to the center position in the spring of 2015 but missed all but one game due to injury that season.Â
Crozier started at center in all 12 games for UConn in 2016 and started last season at the position but was injured three games into 2017.
Crozier has been named to the Rimington Trophy Spring Watch list the past three years.
About the Rimington Trophy
Since its inception, the seventeen-year old award has raised over $3.6 million for the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which is committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis.
Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only two-time winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
