WXC Takes Third in Buffalo Stampede Invitational

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The UConn women's cross country team landed in third place at the 6K Buffalo Stampede Invitational on Friday at Audubon Golf Course in Amherst, N.Y.
Sophomore Brianna Banks was the top-finishing Husky with a fifth place time of 21.57.3, an average mile time of 5:54.
Junior Danielle Jordan (22:25.1, 15th), freshman Sarah Leatherwood (22:31.1, 18th), senior Talia Staiger (22:35.9, 19th) and sophomore Rachel Vick (22.39.3, 20th) all logged top-25 times in the field of 111 racers.Â
UConn closed out the meet with 77 points, finishing behind Cornell (40 points) and Vermont (50).
Senior Kelsey Swanson (22:47.5, 22nd) and freshman Randi Burr (22:51.5, 23rd) also put forth solid performances.Â
Next up, UConn heads to Bethlehem, Pa. to participate in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University next Saturday, Sept. 29
