Hauser-Ramsey Drafted by Colorado Rapids in 2019 MLS SuperDraft

STORRS, Conn. – Former UConn defender Jacob Hauser-Ramsey achieved a dream that many athletes aspire to accomplish – making it to the professional ranks. Friday evening, Hauser-Ramsey was selected 42nd overall by the Colorado Rapids in the second round of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.
The 2018 AAC Defensive Player of the Year, Hauser-Ramsey earned 2018 All-East Region First Team honors and his second-career selection to the AAC First Team after helping the Husky defense to a 1.25 goals against average – fifth-best in the conference. UConn had five shutout wins, third-most in the league including three during a 10-game unbeaten streak between Sept. 8 and Oct. 23 in which it limited its opponents to two goals or less and forced three shutouts. Additionally, he was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Postseason Top 100 Player list.
As a junior, the center back was selected to the AAC All-First Team, United Soccer All-East Region Third Team and was twice-named the AAC Defensive Player of the Week, serving as an integral part of a UConn defense that forced eight shutouts and allowed just a 0.96 goals against average, third-best in the American.
During his sophomore season, Hauser-Ramsey helped the Huskies defense record a conference-leading 0.77 goals against average.
Hauser-Ramsey had a stellar three-year career as a member of the men's soccer team starting in all 55 matches he appeared in for UConn. He made his way over to Storrs in the fall of 2016 following a one-year stint at Tyler Junior College. The Seattle, Wash. Native graduated from UConn this past December with a degree in Applied and Resource Economics.
