STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's tennis team continued to excel in the classroom this past fall, finishing the semester with a cumulative grade point average of 3.67.
The entire team had above a 3.0 with five athletes above a 3.5. One student, senior Gillian Perrotta (Scarsdale, N.Y.), earned a perfect 4.0.
Perrotta along with teammates Mireille Moreau (Warwick, Quebec) and Luciana Rabines (Barcelona, Spain) made the Dean's List for the fall semester.
"I am extremely proud of how our student-athletes have been so successful at balancing their academics with tennis," said head coach Glenn Marshall. "It has been a staple of the women's tennis team for many years. The level of academic success throughout the team this fall is a testament to the types of players we bring into this program. They are very diligent with their studies, and it is important that we recruit outstanding students, as well as strong tennis players. I am looking forward to their continued success this spring in the classroom, and on the tennis court."
The Huskies will kick off their 2019 spring schedule on Saturday and Sunday at Dartmouth.
