Collier Named The American Player of the Week

STORRS, Conn. – Senior Napheesa Collier of the UConn women's basketball team was named the American Athletic Conference's Player of the Week Monday.
Collier led UConn in two wins last week. In a 79-39 win over SMU, she scored 22 points while adding eight rebounds, four assists, six blocks and two steals. In an 83-57 win over UCF, Collier scored 23 points and added nine rebounds, three blocks and four steals.
The senior forward is second on the team with 18.6 points while leading with 10.0 rebounds per game. She also leads the team with 28 blocks and is second with 25 steals and 67 assists.
The O'Fallon, Mo., native has been named the American's Player of the Week five previous times, including once this season.
The second-ranked Huskies (18-1) are back in action at No. 3 Louisville (19-1) Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
