Eleven Huskies Garner Easton/NFCA All American Scholastic Honors

STORRS, Conn. – Eleven members of the UConn softball team received recognition for their academic accomplishments during the 2018-19 season as they were named to the Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I All-America Scholar-Athlete honors this past week.
Recent graduates Kelli Bates and Jill Stockley, as well as current Huskies Devon Casazza, Carli Cutler, Ashlee Dahman, Reese Guevarra, Katie Koshes, Kiwi McDaniel, Marybeth Olson, Olivia Sappington and Hollis Wivell were named All-America Scholar-Athletes for their efforts in the classroom.
A record-breaking 8,161 softball players across seven membership divisions earned Scholar-Athlete honors, with Division I producing 1,769 student-athletes who earned a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Stockley graduated with a degree in speech, language and hearing sciences this past May, while Bates earned hers in sport management.
UConn continues its fall season on Friday at 3:00 pm against Quinnipiac. The Huskies are 4-1 in fall competition thus far, earning wins over Central Connecticut (2-1), BU (2-1), Harvard (6-1) and Franklin Pierce (8-4).
