UConn Athletics Announces Huskies & Heroes Military Appreciation Games

Active military members and veterans can receive complimentary tickets
UConn Athletics has announced dates for Huskies & Heroes military appreciation games for men's basketball, women's basketball and men's hockey. Football was previously announced for Friday, November 1 when UConn hosts Navy, presented by Army National Guard, at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field at 8 p.m.Â
Men's Basketball:Â Friday, November 8 vs. Sacred Heart at 8 p.m. at Gampel Pavilion
Men's Hockey:Â Saturday, November 9 vs. Boston College at 3:30 p.m. at XL Center
Women's Basketball:Â Thursday, January 30 vs. Cincinnati at 7 p.m. at Gampel
Huskies & Heroes military appreciation games are intended to honor and recognize active military service members and veterans from all branches, as well as provide an opportunity for them to spend quality time with their families at a sporting and entertainment event without the worry of having to purchase tickets.  Â
For fans, the UConn Huskies & Heroes events are an opportunity to show our military service members that the UConn Nation community supports their service and sacrifices. Fans can help support military service members and their families attend UConn athletics events by simply donating $10 online at UConnTickets.com. Â

UConn Athletics has a partnership with Vet Tix, a national 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides complimentary and discounted tickets to the more than 21 million active military members and veterans. Vet Tix and UConn Athletics partner to provide complimentary tickets to all of UConn's ticketed sports for select games. Vet Tix has the ability to provide an "In Kind Gift Receipt" for donations.Â
Veterans and service members of all branches (including Reserve and Guard) can obtain complimentary tickets to UConn athletics events by becoming a Vet Tix member. Visit VetTix.org and create an account that verifies military service.  Â
At all Huskies & Heroes events, UConn Athletics is planning several in-game video board elements and features.
