No. 1 UConn to Host Marquette in Hartford Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (10-0, 2-0 BIG EAST) returns to conference play to host Marquette (7-3, 2-0) Wednesday at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford at 7 p.m. The game will air on peacock/NBC Sports Network and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
Wednesday's game theme is Husky Holidays. All fans are encouraged to share in the holiday season fun with their favorite holiday attire and sing along to holiday hits!
Fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys to the Toy Drive on their way inside PeoplesBank Arena, presented by Toys for Tots and Baribault Jewelers.
Graduate student Azzi Fudd scored 17 points to lead UConn past No. 16 USC, 79-51, last Saturday in Los Angeles. Junior Ashlynn Shade had 15 points and sophomore Sarah Strong had 14. Freshman Blanca Quiñonez scored 12 off the bench.
UConn held USC to a season-low 51 points as the Trojans shot 30.2 percent from the field and 21.1 percent from three.
UConn is 22-1 all-time vs. Marquette. The teams last met on March 2, 2025, in Storrs. Sarah Strong had 17 points, five rebounds and four assists in the game.
UConn will travel to Milwaukee on Feb. 14. UConn junior KK Arnold (Germantown) and sophomore Allie Ziebell (Neenah) are Wisconsin natives.
Marquette is coming off an 89-42 win over Le Moyne last Sunday. This season, Skylar Forbes leads the Golden Eagles with 15.8 points per game. Head coach Cara Consuegra is in her second season at Marquette.
The Huskies travel to New York this weekend to face No. 11 Iowa in the Women's Champions Classic at Barclays Center Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are available here.
