PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Three Huskies captured Olympic Trial cut times on Sunday with Katie Breault (Canada), Will Kearsey (USA & Great Britain), and Josh Wroblewski (USA) all qualified for their respective events.
"Our team took a great step forward today with our guys qualifying for Olympic Team Trials heading into the summer, said head coach Chris Maiello. "This is a steadfast program goal of ours and it's great to see us breakthrough with three qualifiers. I think now that we some athletes qualified that will motivate others to go and get cuts."
Breault notched a Canadian Olympic Trial cut time of 1:02.24 in the 100 Fly. The Canadian Olympic Trials are scheduled for March 30 - April 5, 2020 in Toronto, Ontario.Â
She is a transfer from North Dakota and followed coach Maiello to UConn after the team was cut. She was the WAC Freshman Swimmer of the Year in 2016-17. Once she arrived to UConn she has thrived by posting a school record time in the 100 Fly (54.23) and near All-Conference performance in the event with a fourth place finish.
