UConn Multi-Event Challenge Set For Thursday and Friday

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's track & field team will host a Multi-Event Challenge on Thursday, December 5th and Friday, December 6th. The event will be held in the Hugh S. Greer Field House and kicks-off on Thursday at 12 noon and on Friday at 11:30 am. Both days are open to the public.
The heptathlon begins Thursday with the 60m Dash followed by long jump, shot put and high jump. Friday's schedule starts with the 60m hurdles and will conclude with the pole vault and the 1000 meters.
Friday's schedule will also feature a pentathlon starting with the 60m hurdles and followed by high jump, shot put, long jump and the 800 meters.
For UConn, junior Benjamin Grosse (Wayzata, Minn.) will compete for the Huskies in a field that will feature athletes from University of Rhode Island, Southern Connecticut, and University of Pennsylvania. Grosse scored 4920 points at last year's Heptathlon at Greer Fieldhouse, taking first place overall. Senior Jordan Torney (Toms River, N.J.), who took home first place in the 2017 event, will also be competing this year. Sophomore Nicholas Provonost (Coventry, Conn.) will make his UConn debut in the Multi-Event Challenge.
