MACON, Ga. - The UConn men's tennis team lost their second match on the Georgia road trip Saturday morning, falling at Mercer 6-1. The Huskies will wrap up their swing through Georgia on Sunday morning with a match at Kennesaw State.
"We played well in all three doubles spots just could close out games," stated associate head coach Reinaldo Valor. "Hank (Hill) had his best match of the season winning a tough three set match. John Holtmann played a really tough match as well but couldn't pull out the second set tiebreaker. A much higher level of play then the previous match and looking to finish up the three match road trip with a win."
Senior Hank Hill (Durham, N.C.) picked-up the point for the Huskies on Saturday, winning a three-set battle at No. 3 over Fernando Guardia. Hill took the opening set, 6-3 but lost a tough battle in the second, 7-5. The senior regrouped and came storming back for a 10-5 win in the third set tiebreaker to seal the win.
The Huskies will wrap up their trip on Sunday morning at Kennesaw State before returning home to face Sacred Heart next weekend.
