Weather alters Mercer Bears Classic schedule

STORRS, Conn.—Due to imminent rain in the forecast, the schedule for the Mercer Bears Classic has been altered for the entire three-day tournament.

UConn at Mercer, 1:30 p.m. | (Live Stats)
UConn will now take on the Coyotes of South Dakota University, who are 16-12 overall so far this season. Most recently, they competed in the ASU Tournament against Lehigh, No. 21 James Madison, No. 23 Michigan, New Mexico State, and No. 16 Arizona State. The Coyotes are led by Head Coach Robert Wagner who is in his third season at the helm. South Dakota's roster holds a total of seven upperclassmen and eight newcomers. The Coyotes had a pair of seniors named to Summit League softball's 'Players to Watch', utility Dustie Durham and catcher Jessica Rogers. South Dakota has had student-athletes recognized by the conference on several occasions during the 2019 campaign, Durham back on February 11th and infielder Jamie Holscher twice.
