STORRS, Conn. - Approximately 500 UConn football fans visited Storrs on Saturday for the team's Open House and Fan Fest at the Burton Family Football Complex and the Mark R. Shenkman Training Facility. The team wrapped up spring practice on March 15 and Saturday's event sought to take the place of the spring game while giving UConn fans a more interactive and engaging experience with the team.Â
The event ran from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. with various players giving guided tours of Burton/Shenkman. The tour included access to the weight room, the athletic training room, the equipment room, the locker room and Coach Edsall's office along with the team meeting room and other areas that are normally closed to the public.Â
The tour was followed by a strength and conditioning presentation given by Matt King and a defensive and offensive clinic given by the coaching staff. Those presentations were followed by a question and answer session with student-athletes and Coach Edsall while bounce houses, face painting by the UConn cheerleaders and the UConn Dairy Bar truck remained available for the younger demographic.
The event ended with an autograph session. The UConn football team is grateful for the support people showed by coming to Storrs on Saturday and we hope everyone had a great time!  Â
