Collier, Samuelson Set for 2019 WNBA Draft

NEW YORK – UConn women's basketball seniors Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson were selected as two of 12 players invited to attend the 2019 WNBA Draft, set for Wednesday evening at the Nike New York Headquarters.
The first round of the draft will air at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. The second and third rounds will be on ESPNU at 8 p.m.
UConn has had 36 WNBA draft selections since the league's inception in 1997. The Huskies have had at least one player selected in the draft 19 times in the last 21 years, including a current 11-year streak.
Since the WNBA was founded, UConn has had 23 first round picks. This season is potentially the 12th time multiple Huskies will be taken in the same draft.
Other players invited to the draft this year are Kristine Anigwe (Cal), Kalani Brown (Baylor), Sophie Cunningham (Missouri), Asia Durr (Louisville), Megan Gustafson (Iowa), Teaira McCowan (Mississippi State), Arike Ogunbowale (Notre Dame), Alanna Smith (Stanford), Han Xu (China) and Jackie Young (Notre Dame).
