QUARTERFINAL QUICK HITS
Sappington was due up for the Huskies with two outs and Guevarra on second. Jill Stockley had received the nod to start in the circle and was spearheading the defense well. UConn jumped on board in the top of the first inning on Sappington's sacrifice fly, but Houston responded in the second when Aspen Howie delivered an RBI single through the left side of the infield. Kiwi McDaniel pushed the Huskies ahead when she singled down the left field line to plate a run, but the Cougars again responded, this time with two runs in the bottom of the fourth on Savannah Heebner's two-run double.
