UConn Welcomes Westbrook as Transfer

STORRS, Conn. – Head coach Geno Auriemma and the UConn women's basketball team announced the addition of guard Evina Westbrook Saturday. Westbrook has two remaining years of eligibility.
Westbrook spent her first two seasons at Tennessee, where she started all 64 games she appeared in. In 2018-19, she led the Lady Vols with 14.9 points and 5.3 assists per game while shooting 41.9 percent from the field.
A 6-foot guard, Westbrook was named to the SEC Community Service Team in 2018-19. She was an SEC All-Freshman Team pick in 2017-18.
Westbrook won gold with Team USA at the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, where she was teammates with current Husky Megan Walker. She participated in the 2017 U.S. U19 World Cup Team Trials.
Westbrook was ranked the No. 2 overall and No. 1 guard recruit by espnW in 2017. She was named the Morgan Wootten and USA Today National Player of the Year. Westbrook is a native of Salem, Ore.
Westbrook is one of four newcomers to UConn for the 2019-20 season, including freshmen Aubrey Griffin and Ania Makurat and graduate transfer Evelyn Adebayo.
