The middle blocker tallied career totals of 469 sets played, 123 matches played, 674 kills, 110 digs, 60 block solos, 267 block assists, and 327 total blocks. Adeniyi was a four-year letterwinner in addition to being a two-time conference academic all-star in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016. ย
The mark left by Adeniyi on the UConn Volleyball program will be known for years to come. Thinking back to your time before UConn, what made you chose to come to Storrs?
I loved the campus, it's so peaceful and beautiful in the fall and summer. I also fell in love with the girls that I met, it was like having a built-in friend group right out of high school.
What was your major at UConn?
Information Systems with a minor in international studies.
What is something you will always remember/cherish about UConn Volleyball?
I will remember all of the skills UConn Volleyball taught met such as patience, discipline, teamwork, and self-trust.
What are you up to now?
I am an allocation analyst for the clothing company TJX, and live in Boston.
What would you consider your greatest accomplishment since graduating from UConn?
I would say my biggest accomplishment is my yoga teacher certification! I have about two weeks left and then I will be a registered yoga teacher.
How did being a student-athlete here at UConn help prepare you for life after graduation?
I think working in a professional setting is similar, you use so many of the skills you had to learn being on a team. The simple things like being able to mesh with different personalities, the importance of communication and pulling your own weight. All of these things I have taken from playing volleyball have set me apart in the workplace.
What advice would give our current student-athletes?
Take time for yourself. Me time is so important and if you take time every day for yourself, you will learn so much about who you are as a person. Alone time can be anything from reading, listening to music or podcasts, relaxing, watching Netflixโฆanything that lets you unwind and makes your heart happy.
