STORRS, Conn. - Third year head coach Chris Maiello announced his programs 2019-2020 slate on Monday morning.
The Huskies host five home meets at the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium with Army and Dartmouth making trips to Storrs on November 2 and January 18th, respectively.
"Our schedule really shapes up nicely this season, said Coach Maiello. "During an Olympic year, we try and give our athletes a few opportunities to swim LCM (long-course meters) in competition to help them prep for getting an Olympic Trial's time standard before next summer. This year we will be able to provide three such opportunities. Specifically speaking at the Rutgers Invite, Husky Invite and ECAC Championships, our team will stake claim to representing UConn at the national level."
Along with the LCM racing, the Huskies will take part in a pair of meets with traditioanl rivals, Boston College (11/8) and Boston University (11/9) during a weekend trip to Boston.
"Our Boston swing will test us again with some great competition with BC and Duke and BU and Bryant," said Maiello. "We always value strong competition and testing our athletes during the regular season.
The January portion of the schedule is strong with travel to Big East conference champion on January 25 and Senior Day the week prior on January 18.
UConn will wrap up the season with its American Athletic Conference Championships from February 19-22.
