Avery: "This game showed just how much potential our team has and how far we have come. People are stepping up into new roles demonstrating leadership and giving it their all. We still have a long road ahead but this was a great day for us and something we all are very proud of."
Genna: "As a program, we have taken many steps in the right direction to have a successful season. This preseason has tested us both mentally and physically in order to prepare us for the challenges we will face this upcoming season. All of our hard work throughout the preseason prepared us for our exhibition match against Rhode Island. It was refreshing to see our system come together and be effective against another team on the other side of the net. Surely, we will face many challenges this season and through continuous hard work and effort we will be able to play with any team we are faced with. Having Ellen as our new head coach, the gym has a new feel to it. Filled with energy and motivation, the girls are just excited to continue to grow and flourish together. I am extremely excited to get the rest of the year started. With class starting on Monday, this brings another aspect of challenge to being a student athlete. On Wednesday, the team leaves for Washington, D.C. for the Pentgaon Challenge, everybody is really excited to be playing in such a unique environment and to face teams that are certainly good competition."
