STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer program will enter the 2019 season with the country's 12th-best recruiting class, as TopDrawerSoccer unveiled their final 2019 Division I recruiting rankings earlier this week.
"We're excited to have our recruiting class recognized by TDS," said associate head coach Mike Miller. "This group has really enhanced the depth of our talent, making the competition for spots in the team very competitive."
Associate head coach Mike Miller, the program's top recruiter, worked diligently over the past few years to secure the latest 15-member incoming class for the Huskies. The group includes five impact transfers – Jordan Hall, Jake Dengler, Ahdan Tait, Ziyad Fekri and Djimon Johnson as well as 10 sensational freshman - Marcus Peterkin, Josh Morgan, Jayden Reid, Wesley Leggett, Ben Awashie, Moussa Wade, Thomas Decottignies, Chris Alwang, Owen Guglielmino and Joey Zarra.
"Each player in this class has a specific role either as a starter, a reserve or a valuable player for the future," Miller added. "We're looking forward to seeing what this class will accomplish during their time here in Storrs"
Additionally, UConn begins the year ranked 26th in the College Soccer News Preseason Poll while also receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. Last season the Huskies spent five consecutive weeks in the Top-25 polls, including a No. 8 national ranking in Week 10.
