Snyder Earns AAC Athlete of the Week Honors

STORRS, Conn. – UConn men's track and field freshman Travis Snyder (Saco, Maine) was named the American Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 12th.

Snyder earned the honors after a stellar performance in his UConn debut last weekend at the Beantown Challenge hosted by Harvard University.

The freshman took first in the pole vault at the weekend's meet with a winning clearance of 5.20 meters (17-0.75) for the Huskies. Snyder's effort currently ranks second overall in the American Conference and ninth nationally so far this season.
