Huskies Compete at USATF Outdoor, Swiss National Championships

STORRS, Conn. - Rising senior Josh Mooney will compete in the men's decathlon at the 2026 USATF Outdoor Championships in New York this Thursday and Friday, with a chance to earn a spot on the World Championship Team. The national championships will be held July 23-26 at Icahn Stadium in Manhattan.ย
Mooney enters the meet following a standout 2026 campaign. He was named the BIG EAST Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer during the indoor season before earning the conference's Outdoor Most Outstanding Track and Field Performer honors. He also secured First Team All-America recognition after placing eighth in the decathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.ย
Rising senior Malin Rahm is set to represent UConn this weekend as she competes in the women's 5000 meter race at the Swiss National Championships.
Last season, Rahm advanced to the NCAA East First Round Regional, where she competed against the nation's top distance runners after qualifying in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
