KINGSTON, R.I. – The UConn men's track & field team sent a limited roster to the Sorlien Memorial Invitational at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday and the Huskies that competed continue to build upon the team's early season success.
"We did a good job today as a group, getting guys to be consistent," stated director of cross country and track & field Greg Roy. Â "We worked hard this week, the athletes that were there worked really hard this week and I think they all progressed and we are excited about going down to New York next week."
An unscored meet, the limited roster UConn featured at the Mackal Field House came away with a pair of individual victories and a win in the 4x400 relay. "A good win for Myles (Calhoun) in the dash and Steve Sutton got his first college win in the 800, where we went 1,2,3," stated Roy. "Two freshman and guy who moved up from the 400 with good times so that was nice to see. Chris Keegan had a nice showing in the weight throw with another PR, his second overall, and Matt Brady had a solid performance in the shot put. And Jordan Torney had a nice day, he and Ben Grosse, did a great job in the events they did today."
