Impressive Turnaround Highlights SwimDive Senior Day

STORRS, Conn. - What a difference a year makes. The UConn women's swimming and diving team lost by a large margin, 154-83, at Dartmouth a season ago but on Senior Day Saturday at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium, the Huskies made a statement from the start, leading to a 171-120 win.Â
After celebrating the careers of Kamrin Dawkins, Holly Parker, Sona Pinela, Brazil Rule, Kiley Stotler, Megan Wenman and Erin Clifford, the 400 yard medley relay team went out and swept the podium.
Georgia Apostolu, Katelyn Walsh, Linnea Anderson and Meg Wenman raced to a 3:52.43 clip.

Senior Sona Pinela captured a win in her final home dual meet by taking first in the 200 Fly (2:05.91).Â
Junior Ryan Dulaney had a quality meet by securing wins in the 1000 (10:21.51) and 500 Freestyle (5:05.22) while Katelyn Walsh so notched a pair of wins in the 100Â (1:05.40) and 200 Breaststroke (2:24.12).

Freshman Caitlin Spencer highlighted a strong 200 Backstroke with a season-best 2:06.46 earning her first place and Apostolu and Catherine Fazio followed closely behind to clinch an all Husky podium.
UConn has a quick turnaround with their last road dual meet of the season at Villanova on Saturday, January 25.
