No. 6 Huskies Face Cincinnati Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The sixth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (23-3, 13-0) travel to Cincinnati (18-8, 9-4) Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will air on SNY/ESPN3 and The River 105.9.
UConn is 22-0 all-time vs. Cincinnati. The Huskies picked up an 80-50 win over the Bearcats on Jan. 30 in Gampel Pavilion. Senior Crystal Dangerfield scored 24 points in the game while junior Megan Walker had 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Huskies won their seventh straight American Athletic Conference regular season title last week. UConn is 115-0 in regular-season play and 133-0 including tournament play.
Connecticut will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming American Athletic Conference Tournament March 6-9 at Mohegan Sun Arena. For more on the championship, click HERE.
UConn is coming off a 66-52 win on Senior Day last Saturday. Junior Megan Walker recorded 20 points and 11 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season. Freshman Anna Makurat scored 17 points, all in the second half, while Dangerfield added 14.
After helping the Huskies to two conference wins and the regular season title, Walker and Makurat swept the American Athletic Conference's weekly honors as Player and Freshman of the Week, respectively. Walker averaged 19.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and 54.5 from three. This is her fourth Player of the Week honor this season. Makurat averaged 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 65 percent from the field and 50 percent from three. This is her third Freshman of the Week honor.
Four Huskies were named finalists for the Basketball Hall of Fame's position player of the year awards. Senior Crystal Dangerfield (Nancy Lieberman Award), junior Megan Walker (Cheryl Miller Award), sophomore Christyn Williams (Ann Meyers Drysdale Award) and sophomore Olivia Nelson-Ododa (Lisa Leslie Award) are on the 10-player finalist lists for their positions.
