Walker Named AP First Team All-American

NEW YORK – UConn women's basketball junior Megan Walker was named to the AP All-America First Team Thursday.
Senior Crystal Dangerfield and sophomore Olivia Nelson-Ododa earned honorable mention All-American honors.
Walker was the 2020 American Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Tournament Most Outstanding Player. In 2019-20, she averaged 19.7 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while ranking eighth nationally with a 45.1 three-point field goal percentage. Walker scored 20 or more points in 18 games this season.
Walker is the 26th Husky all-time to earn AP First Team honors. This is the seventh straight season UConn has had at least one AP first teamer.
Dangerfield was a unanimous All-AAC First Team selection and was named to the all-tournament team. She averaged 14.9 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Dangerfield ranked 26th nationally with a 2.27 assist-turnover ratio.
Nelson-Ododa led UConn with 8.5 rebounds per game this season while adding 10.9 points per game. She was named All-AAC Second Team. Nelson-Ododa ranked fourth nationally with 100 total blocks and seventh with 3.13 blocks per game.
