UConn Hosts Marquette Wednesday Night

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team (4-4-1, 0-3-1 BE) will host the Marquette Golden Eagles (5-5-1, 2-2-1 BE) in a Big East Conference tilt on Wednesday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm at Morrone Stadium at the Rizza Family Sports Complex.
Last Time Out
The Huskies return to the pitch after a week off following a 1-0 double overtime loss to Villanova on October 6th. UConn outshot the Wildcats and dominated most of the game, but could not find the back of the net. Villanova was given a penalty in the 103rd minute, which was converted and secured the victory for the visitors. The Huskies are still searching for their first conference win of the season.
Scouting the Golden Eagles
Marquette enters Wednesday's game following a victory over Creighton on Saturday, October 9th. The Golden Eagles are 2-2-1 in Big East play, with victories coming against Seton Hall (3-1) and Creighton (3-1). They also tied #24 Providence 2-2 and dropped contests to Villanova (1-0) and Xavier (2-1). Lukas Sunesson leads the team with five goals and an assist for 11 points. Edrey Caceres and Beto Soto have each tallied nine points so far this season.
