Football Loses Heartbreaker, 30-28, to Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The UConn football team put together a gutsy outing against the Vanderbilt Commodores but lost on the final play of the game, 30-28, to move to 0-6 on the year.
The Huskies led 28-27 with 1:06 remaining in the game after a 17-yard touchdown run from quarterback Steve Krajewski.Â
Krajewski came into the game after Tyler Phommanchanh exited the game with an injury. Krajewski threw for 264 yards and a pair of touchdown passes.
Nate Carter was the first Husky to rush for more than 100 yards this season with 123 yards on 24 attempts.Â
Keelan Marion was also the first UConn receiver to produce 100 yards receiving with his 102 yards on four catches and one touchdown on Saturday night.Â
Jackson Mitchell continued to prove how great of a defender he is with a sack, interception and seven tackles on the evening.
UConn will look to grab its first win next Saturday at UMass.Â
