Men’s Basketball to Host Pride Game on November 30 at XL Center

STORRS, Conn. – In a continuing effort to support and promote an atmosphere of inclusion that UConn seeks to foster, the UConn men's basketball team will be hosting its first annual Pride Game on Tuesday, November 30 when the Huskies welcome the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore to the XL Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and the contest will be televised live on FS2.
On October 22, the UConn football team held the first Pride Game in the history of UConn athletics and additional teams will play host to Pride Games during the 2021-22 season.
Tickets are still available and the men's basketball team hopes a big crowd, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community, is able to cheer on the Huskies in a safe and inclusive space.
In support, UConn Men's Basketball staff will be wearing pins. Once again, the Hartford Gay Men's Chorus will perform the national anthem pregame and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free rainbow headband. Relevant informational and educational resources will be available on the XL Center Concourse, and Breaking T has produced UConn Pride t-shirts that ar available for purchase online here. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project.
