LEWISBURG, PA. – The University of Connecticut women's swimming and diving team finished day one of the Bucknell Invitational in fourth place.
UConn had a nice start to the invitational with multiple swimmers making finals in their events. As the team wraps up day one in fourth place, they look to build off the start and continue to improve over the next two days.
"It was a good first day for the team. We raced and dove great in finals tonight and the team is in a good place after day one with our best two days ahead of us." Coach Chris Maiello stated.
"Really happy for Ana Laura and our relay for getting victories tonight. That definitely got our team pumped up."
Sophomore Ana Laura Faoro sparked the Huskies as she placed first in the 1-meter diving with a score of 291.95. Following the lead set by Ana Laura, the relay team of sophomore Kayla Mendonca, senior Katelyn Walsh, senior Linnea Anderson, and freshman Maggie Donlevy won the 400-yard Medley relay by two seconds.
The Huskies return to action Saturday as the look to close the gap on the teams ahead of them
