Brian Brewton Named Freshman All-American by The Athletic

STORRS, Conn. – Freshman running back Brian Brewton was honored as a First Team Freshman All-American kickoff returner, as announced by The Athletic.
Brewton a 5-7 running back from Miami, Fla., ran a pair of kickoffs back for touchdowns in 2021, the first coming on September 18 at Army and the second came on the opening kickoff at Clemson on November 13.

Brewton finished the regular season ranked third nationally in kick return yardage at 717 and his average of 29.9 yards per kick ranks ninth in the country. His two TD's are the second-highest single-season total in school history and his TD at West Point was the first by a Husky since Robbie Frey accomplished the feat during the 2011 Fiesta Bowl.
