No. 1 Huskies Take on Xavier Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (17-1, 14-0 BIG EAST) travels to Xavier (4-6, 1-5) for the first time in program history Saturday at 3 p.m. The game will air on SNY and The River 105.9.
UConn notched a dominant 77-32 win over St. John's in Queens on Wednesday. Junior Christyn Williams (21), freshman Paige Bueckers (20) and junior Olivia Nelson-Ododa (17) led the Huskies offensively. The trio shot 75 percent from the field. As a team, UConn shot 64.7 percent, the team's highest outing of the season.
This is just the third all-time meeting between the Huskies and Musketeers with UConn holding a 2-0 record. This is the second meeting between the teams this season. Dec. 19, junior Christyn Williams scored 24 points to lead six Huskies in double digits in a 106-59 win in Gampel Pavilion.
Xavier played its first game since Jan. 23 on Wednesday, falling to No. 19 DePaul, 83-75. This season, Nia Clark leads the Musketeers with 14.0 points per game. Head coach Melanie Moore is in her second season at Xavier.
UConn is on game three of a five-game road stretch. The Huskies last had five straight road games from Feb. 9-19, 1980, which were all against New England teams.
