UConn to Face Northeastern Friday

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn volleyball team (0-1) returns to action on Friday at Northeastern (0-0) noon. The game will be streamed on NESN+ and FloVolleyball.
UConn opened the season last weekend with a 3-1 loss at Temple. Junior Caylee Parker led the Huskies with 17 kills on .343 hitting. Sophomore Jasmine Davis had 10 kills. The Huskies started the match strong, knocking down 15 kills on .444 hitting in the first set.
UConn served eight aces in its first match, led by five from sophomore Madi Whitmire.
This will be Northeastern's first match of the season. Sophomore Erica Staunton returns after ranking second on the team in 2019 with 2.56 kills per set.
UConn is 13-21 all-time vs. Northeastern. The teams' last meeting came on Sept. 19, 2015. The programs will meet again in Boston next Friday, Feb. 12.
