STORRS, Conn. – UConn senior Sydney Watson (Prince Fredrick, Md.) was named an honorable mention as part of US Lacrosse Magazine's All-Time Women's Black Lacrosse team.
Throughout the month of February, US Lacrosse Magazine and Blaxers Blog have partnered to shine on a light on the Black men and women who have paved the way for this generation of lacrosse players and well beyond. With feedback from over 25 members of the lacrosse community, they compiled a list of the best Black men and women to ever step on a lacrosse field.
Watson is off to a strong start to her senior season, piling up 11 goals and an assist in the first three games of the season. She was named this week's BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week after helping lead the Huskies to wins over UMass Lowell and New Hampshire.
In her first three seasons at UConn, she scored 91 goals and has been dominant in the draw circle, winning 224. Prior to this season she was a unanimous Preseason All-BIG EAST pick and over her UConn career has been an all-conference and all-region player.
