Three Huskies Named WBCA All-Region

ATLANTA – Three members of the UConn women's basketball team were named All-Region by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Wednesday.
Juniors Olivia Nelson-Ododa and Christyn Williams and freshman Paige Bueckers were named regional finalists for the 2021 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-American for Region 4.
Nelson-Ododa is averaging 13.0 points and a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game. She was named the BIG EAST Co-Defensive Player of the Year, All-BIG EAST Second Team and BIG EAST All-Tournament Team. Nelson-Ododa was selected as an AP Honorable Mention All-American last week.
Williams is averaging 15.5 points per game this season. She was named All-BIG EAST First Team and to the BIG EAST All-Tournament Team. Williams was selected as an AP Honorable Mention All-American last week.
Bueckers leads UConn with 19.9 points and 6.0 assists per game as well as a 46.7 three-point field goal percentage. She was selected as an AP First Team All-American, BIG EAST Player of the Year, BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
The 2021 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches' All-America team will be announced Saturday, April 3.
UConn advanced to its 27th straight Sweet 16 with a win over Syracuse Tuesday. The Huskies will face fifth-seeded Iowa in the next round on either Saturday or Sunday.
