Daniel Claxton Named BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - UConn senior Daniel Claxton (Nesconset, N.Y.) was named the BIG EAST Track & Field Men's Field Athlete of the Week after leading the Huskies this past weekend in their final home meet of the season.

Claxton won in the high jump at the UConn Northeast Invitational for the third time this spring and posted his best jump this outdoor season at 2.14 meters. He is atop the BIG EAST rankings and ranks 37th nationally.

The Huskies are back in action this weekend with athletes competing at the Virginia Grand Prix at UVA and at the James Barber Tri-Meet at SCSU in the final tune up before the BIG EAST Championship on May 14 and 15.
