Hamilton & Dembrowski Named First Team NFHCA All-Americans

STORRS, Conn. - Sophomore Sophie Hamilton and senior Jessica Dembrowski captured First Team NFHCA All-America honors on Tuesday night, as announced by National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Hamilton had a stellar sophomore season this spring, leading the Huskies with 19 goals, 15 assists and 53 points in 14 games. She ranked third nationally with 1.36 goals per game and led the nation with 1.07 assists per game and 3.79 points per game.
Hamilton took home a bevy of accolades including NFHCA Mideast Region Player of the Year, BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player, All-BIG EAST First Team and BIG EAST All-Tournament Team. She was one of four finalists for the Honda Sport Award in field hockey.
Dembrowski started all 14 games at midfield and ranked third on the team with 19 points, including six goals and seven assists. She was an All-BIG EAST First Team selection along with a NFHCAÂ Mideast Region First Team selection.
Hamilton and Dembrowksi led UConn to a 12-2 overall record in the spring, including the BIG EAST Championship and an NCAA Tournament quarterfinals appearance.
